The vine clone “Malvasia di Candia Aromatica”   has returned to the foreground  particularly in Heraklion and many Cretan wines from Cretan grape variety Malvasia have gained distinctions.

Cretan grape variety Vidiano

An old indigenous variety, which is also mentioned as "Avidiano", was scattered in old vineyards of Crete. It is a lively and productive variety, resistant to heat waves and late in Dafnes. Vidiano gives us wines with rich, fruity aromas, full body and balanced acidity. The strong points of Vidiano are its volume and durability over time. Two characteristics that make it unique since there are a few varieties in Greece that give such characteristics.
